S 100 rear sight repair ?

Log in to see fewer ads
3 of my guns have the S100 rear sight. Two of them operate as they should but the one does not "click" on the elevation adjustment, the thimble just free wheels. It won't hold it's adjustment. Are these repairable ? Is there a way to tighten them ?

Actually looking at the DamGuy sights info this sight might be a S130 but I imagine they are so similar that info would work for both

From your description it sounds like you are missing either the small ball bearing or a spring.

Or maybe it's gummed up, try a couple drops of cleaning solvent and see if it starts working.

As already mention, the small detent ball is probably missing. Even if gummed up, you should still feel some resistance.

Got it apart and yes the ball was missing. Someone before me had taken it apart because the thimble was upside down. I got thru my can of "stuff" (that we all have) and found a ball I must have taken out of an old wrecked "something". We're good. Thanks gents.
