Nothing inferior with that rifle, or the picture either. Congratulaitons and thanks for posting. That woodpile brings back memories of long ago when I heated my home in New Jersey with a wood stove. Couldn't afford the price of fuel oil.

Tnx Namboonie. I'm a real 527 fanboy. We're up in the Blue Ridge on the end of the line....power outages are common. The woodstove is a necessity up here! Went thru a lot of cordage this year...but still plenty in that woodshed for next winter. Also makes for good support for rifle pics...too bad I got that shadow in there tho; obscures a lot of the figured walnut on the butt end.

I had no good reason for another 527, other than I wanted one and had not bought anything since this crazy virus stuff started. Called my LGS (SUPPORT YOUR LGS!!) and asked him to order one in .223. A little over 3 weeks later it arrived. Due to the ongoing health safety precautions, all paperwork etc was done in his parking area (a small rural shop). As he had other customers waiting nearby, I did not feel comfortable pulling the rifle out of the box in a public area, so I took a chance, paid the $, accepted the delivery and simply drove home knowing if there was a problem, the LGS would make it right. So, the entire drive home (about 30 mins) I was wondering about my wisdom to not inspect the rifle prior to accepting the transfer. So, when I got home, I could not wait to open the box to make sure the rifle was acceptable. Sooo, when I popped the lid I was going to inspect for the usual things and was then STUNNED to see the wood!! Lottery Winner!! I had just told my wife about what we call "Lottery Wood" and here it was, in person!! I hope I don't sound like I'm boasting....just sharing the excitement with friends who understand the feeling.
A very nice reward for supporting your LGS!

Lucky guy. The wood is extraordinary. Glad you are happy with it. I've looked at numerous CZ rimfires and have been turned off by the plain-jane wood. I've seen some that look good, but most have been very plain.
