Weaver Scope Info Please

Greetings all.

Thinking of getting a new scope. I'll be shooting bench at 50yds and some 100yds, I currently use a Sightron 36x.

I have my eye on a used Weaver 36X40 CT36 Micro Track scope, good price I think.

I believe this scope is old (80's/90's) and now out of production.

I know Weaver are excellent scopes, can anyone guide me on this older model please.

Thanks. Giz

As far as i know weaver continued to make them up until a few years ago. I purchased 3 of them N.I.B from natchez shooters supply 3or 4 years ago. as far as the scopes themselves I think they are excellent and will serve your purpose well. I believe they are pretty similar in quality to your sightron sii.

I have both the Sightron Sll36x & the Weaver T36 FCH with dot. I would rate them both very close with a slight edge for the T36.

What are you hoping to gain by switching? As said, they're quite similar...Tom

I've had both models. I wouldn't switch unless it was a good deal and I needed a second scope.

It will be a second scope Tom. Thinking of putting it on a Brno M5.

Just an idea, In reality I should hold out, get a bit more dosh and get a 10-50 or similar for the 1809 and put the 36x on the M5.

These old eyes need at least 36x, getting older sucks.
