I disagree with article as it relates to the neutering of squirrels.
Male squirrels neuter young males. Not all but some. What else is neutering the squirrels?
This doesn’t happen during mating season. Which is what’s the article talks about.
I have witnessed what was talked about in the article above.
But the article doesn’t cover all squirrel behavior all the time.
A Tom cat will kill young Tom cat kittens not the females. Momma cat will try and hide their babies for this reason. Sorta down the same line as male squirrels being neutered.

Why wouldn't they just kill the young males?
Do they have some heightened form of moral reasoning?
Could this be due to increased cerebral blood flow in the ventral striatum and ventromedial prefrontal cortex?

Little squirrel hunt after short deer hunt.
Bagged 7. All foxes.
Saw a couple greys but they wouldn’t be still. Small and young.
Love this hm2 rig and Nightforce scope with hit reticle.
Knocked out one of these out of monster oak tee top at 75 yards. He ran a round some and then fell out. Hm2 is potent medicine for fox squirrels. Hunt terminated due to more high wind. Never seen so much high wind.
Brings season total to 344
Career harvest to 51,186
Btw - all males in pic. 2 of 7 neutered.
Pics of rifle setup below. CZ 455 with lilja varmint taper barrel wrapped in nice camo tape. Rifle has yo Dave trigger kit installed.

I harvested my 13th deer of the archery/muzzleloader/rifle season today.
Tagged out buck wise.
Slipped up and shot the wrong buck.
Monster was there too.
Oh well.
I can still hunt and shoot does (3 a day) and buck with less than 3” horns.
Got a better buck (shown below with bow earlier) than the one I shot with 25.06 at around high noon today.
Ps I count my deer harvest numbers too.
Actually they are recorded on Tn wildlife management site as I check them in. A history file is documented.
So more squirrel hunting now and less deer hunting.

Little Thanksgiving morning squirrels hunt.
Bagged 4. One shot at around 80 yards - head shot. Must have got lucky. Lol
Brings season total to 352
Career harvest to 51,194
Will go again later today.
I hear one barking right now across the road.
Btw 3 of the 4 fox squirrels in pic are adult males.
One of 3 neutered.
