Best Factory Wood Stock Modifications?

Log in to see fewer ads
Who has modified their factory wood stock to slim it down and make it fit better? I haven't been able to find any good threads on the subject as the word "stock" isn't limited to the one meaning regarding the 10/22 and most people either leave it or replace it altogether.

Pictures? Thread links?

I took a stock carbine stock and sanded off the finish and then used a belt sander to thin out thd stock in the middle and took most of the swell area away. I also added a finger groove at the fore end and removed the barrel band area.

Here's a thread I started with pics of a carbine I slicked up plus more from others...

Poor quality photos of a carbine stock with a simpler re-shaping job and flat black epoxy paint...

If you want to see less conservative and more radical factory stock re-dos, search Hipshot's threads. You will not believe what he does with them!
