Not my first Model 5, and not in my hands - yet. But my first early 5.

The High Water Mark of Czech .22 production.

Beauty! Sad how things have changed, but; no way does that diminish that fine rifle. Congratulations.

Nice

Jim,
That is a lovely Model 5. Early ones ('57 - '58) guns in that condition are scarce and hard to find. Nice to see one of these rare beauties in the hands of someone with your sense of history.
Congrats,
John

That stock has fantastic grain, you were fortunate to find a pretty one, especially with that model's scarcity. Congratulations on your good fortune.

"The High Water Mark of Czech .22 production." Agree, finely balanced and well manufactured firearms.

Congrats sir! Another Brno I was watching closely but had to pass on right now. I have a few I need to sell before I can bring in anything else.

That unicorn of a Brno looks fantastic. My Model 5 is from the same production period but shows more wear in the wood and bluing. That one looks %%%% near perfect all things considered.

Please be sure to take lots of pictures and add them and your experiences to the Brno Model 5 owners club thread!!

A very sweet find, congrats! I think that might be the cleanest and best preserved Model 5 I’ve seen.

Thanks guys. Focused on Brno's last 20 years, Only been able to buy 5 of them. Beartrax helped with the first (a 57 restoration project), one from Sweden (70 production) 3 from imported trainers all 68 or later and required restoration. This the first what appears to be pure made for export deluxe in an early 6 groove.

Yes they are hard to find. Lack of import marks leads me to believe this one came over the Canadian border sometime back. That is usually the way of those.

Paid up for it, but well worth it in my opinion. I will do more pics upon receipt.

If I found an excellent condition Model 5, I would pay extra for it. I wouldn’t go crazy with the price I would pay, but they are somewhat rare in this country.

I am a CZ fan but know nothing about the BRNO precursors. What makes that one more special than a 1 or 2?
