I just donated about 5000 rounds to the local Methodist encampment for their shooting range programs. They take campers to the range and teach them how to shoot starting with .22LR. If we get these kids when they are young, perhaps they won't be so quick to try to take away our 2nd amendment rights.

Joe

I've still got about 5000 rounds. I don't shoot that much anymore.

I have less than some here but enough to be OK for a few years. The nice thing about ammo is stored right there really isn't an expiration date. Most will be fine 25 years from now. I have some bricks of 22LR ammo around 20 years old that's probably better than current bulk pack stuff. Wish I had bought cases that long ago but it didn't seem that important then. One lot of federal red/blue lightning I saved for later chronographs in the 1300s. Most Federal 510 these days won't break 1200 on average. I've been chewing through some later 510 Champion and recent automatch that's not all that consistent for plinking and saving my better lots of ammo in reserve.

I go trough about 2000 rounds a month so I like to keep a lot of ammo in stock just incase there is another shortage, like if the Dems get elected. I now buy by the case instead of a few bricks at a time.

Don't run out............

I never ran out of r/f ammo during the great shortage and don't intend to do so now or later! At one point, I took a couple of bricks of LR to my friend that owns a local gun store so he would have a little bit on hand for his other customers! I think he gave a box or two away with each .22 handgun and rifle he sold. That positive karma has been returned several times over since then!

I believe everybody should have a minimum of a years worth of shooting of ammo on hand and the sky is the limit on how much to keep! It doesnt go bad if stored properly and can be handed down if not used! I have some .22 LR ammo left from my father that was purchased in the mid 70’s and still fires consistently!

During the shortage I was giving and trading .22LR to ppl that couldnt find any for kids and/or pest control. It pays in the long run to keep those in need, happy!

So said, I’m shooting Federal Bulk Packs I purchased in 2002! Wish I had bought a lot more at those prices!

I plan on leaving enough ammo for my son lifetime of shooting so he can continue to purchase for his kids!

I've probably got enough in general to last the rest of my life but still buying specific types I prefer. Doesn't really take up that much space and doesn't have to be fed.

Do you think there is likely to be another 22 shortage? What with most current shooters stocked up since the last election and the overproduction and abundance of 22 just sitting on the store shelves?
I got so deep in ammo last few years that I don't ever plan to buy again.
I can't imagine Dems being able to stop the firearms and ammo industries do you?

A) We don't allow political discussion of any sort on RFC. Please don't be the one to get the thread deleted.
2) The shortage was caused by panicked buying and hoarding. Panic does not need facts to get started.

The last shortage was caused by DEMAND! If buyers THINK the prices may go up, or the supply might be threatened, the demand will go up again causing another shortage. Hence, prices will climb during the crisis and stay HIGH, just like last time.

My advice, buy NOW while there is a good supply and prices are “stable.”
