Just jump that up to a .17WSM and 200 yard squirrel shots are not even worth bragging about.

John, if they're that far away I can't see them anyway. Sounds like a great prairie dog round though.

Although I squirrel hunt strictly with a .25 PCP air rifle now,I have owned and hunted with Winchester 52 A's,B's,C's in either custom or factory sporter configuration,
along with a few Anschutz 54.s and 164's,Kleinguenthers,Kimbers,Sako 94's,Rem 541's,a Calfee XP 100 rimfire and untelling .22's and .17's in between. If I wanted to go out and kill a mess of grays as quickly as possible with a rifle,I would grab my 10/22 DSP with a 17"Lilja bbl. and 3.5x10 a.o.Leupold.Certainly not the prettiest rifle, but weighs a bit ove 6 lbs. and the last 5-5shot groups I shot agged .328" at 50 yards.

I have 2 AR 15s, one is Hillary, the other is Nancy. These 2 are the reason I bought them.

UPDATE!! Fedex has arrived with a NULA on board!!Opened the box and found my rifle intact as well as a refund check for the return shipping and the Timney trigger.
It's raining with 20mph winds here but I did run two mags through it that I'm happy to say it ran as it should. The Jewel trigger WITH top right safety is great as well. should have done this from the start. Now I hope it shoots as accurate as it did when it left.So IF it shoots, this project has only taken 2 years and 2 months to complete

James,
I hope it all works out with the NULA!

I did a "Buy Now" on another Weatherby Anschutz, this one in .22LR. It is supposed to be in unfired condition. I went this way instead of the ULA that is up for auction that I PMed you about.

I asked the seller about the "blemish" about 6" below the muzzle on the barrel (ULA). The seller was very honest. He said the blemish is actually below the surface and would not be easy to repair.

I'm with you on the PCP for USR consideration. I have a Beeman Super 12 in .20 that is about as good as it gets for squirrel hunting. Quiet, accurate out to 50 yards, light weight, perfectly balanced, a Record trigger set at 2.5#, and it isn't ammo dependent. Accurate enough that I only take head shots and a 15 grain pellet at 850 fps goes straight through those little noggins.

If I need to eradicate a large number of squirrels I'll pick up my Airforce Condor with an FX .25 barrel on it. One fall day a couple of years ago I shot 10 in an hour in one of my hickory trees, and once in the Spring I shot 14 out of a wild cherry tree in about two hours.

But when the mood strikes me and I want to use a 22lr I pick up my mossberg 26C single shot. The stock looks like it was cut out of a pine 2x6, the barrel is a greyish brown patina, but light weight, well balanced, and for me is the easiest rifle I own to shoot offhand. Not a looker, but absolutely a natural born killer.

Its windy out today but I just shot some Blazer as well as polar biathlon at 50 yds. Both shot great with zero mis fires. The Jewel trigger set at one pound really is a improvement! if the wind lets up, i'll shoot some Eley and SK.

Sounds like you might be on the way to a USR, James. But don't forget, you can't just assign that title. It has to be earned. You should know for sure by the end of Jan 2020.
