Same as Nodak

I just got on to report what the reply from Ruger was and it's exactly word for word what Nodak just posted, absolutely no help !!! Guess we'll just have to keep pokin the bear and hope something falls out. I did try to take some hope from what was said after the "candidly" part, but that's just me reading in to what I want.

I've been looking for a Mach2 for 4 years but need a suppressor ready barrel. I've given up on Ruger after my RAR HMR and RPR purchases that both required returns, one total replacement and one barrel/bolt replacement. Considering the amount of time cleaning up sloppy machining and testing I put into both guns trying to make them function and shoot...… they'd have to give me their guns to claim me as a customer going forward.

Same opinion with Savage after buying a new B-Mag heavy barrel. The bolt, magazines, and bedding points of that action are junior high engineering at best.

The retail price points look great until the reality of poor machining, engineering, function, and accuracy sets in. The level of quality they expect today's consumer to accept is sad.

Darrick, the manager at Whittaker's, posted this on 24hourcampfire.com less than 12 hours ago. I know Darrick, and he would not BS anyone.

"My Ruger exclusive this year is a 17HM2. It’ll be on the same platform as the 8334 - the blued American Rimfire Predator. Those are getting really close to delivery. We toyed with stainless, but couldn’t make happen."

So, there it is, I don't know how many they are getting, or exactly when they are getting them, but that's probably going to be it for awhile.

When it does come in, how would I order it? You got a link? Please.

Edit: I went to the forum and sent a reply. Hopefully he'll answer.

After the Tikka pre-order fiasco (not Whittaker's fault), I suspect they won't take any more pre-orders. They'll probably wait until the rifles are on hand before offering them for sale.

That's how I'd do it, anyway. The aggravation of pre-orders would tell on my mind.

This is the thread where he mentioned the RAR HM2s, it was an afterthought, so you'll have to read the whole thread to get the nugget.

I'd be way more interested if I could figure out how to get my current RAR predator to not make that extremely loud striker ping every time i fired it.

Jfraz came up with a solution and it works great! take the bolt apart and simply drop in a rubber o-ring, problem solved. I used a o-ring designed for a Midway bore guide.

Any idea on size, inner and outer diameter, or thickness?

Just twist the bolt to un-cock it then spin it apart. you will see what you need easily after that.
