Left Hand 452's sure are getting spendy...

I am really glad I completed my collection of Left Hand 452 rifles. I cannot believe what some of these are going for. A plain Jane 452 with average wood just went for $795 on GunBroker.

It is a shame that CZ has left us left-handers behind. I really like the new 457 models but I refuse to buy a right hand gun.

It's supply and demand, of course, that has driven the prices up. The LH guns are a subset of the 452 line and are pretty rare, but most of the discontinued CZ rifle lines are selling for a good bit more than original MSRP, some of them pushing up towards 2x MSRP. 452 Ultra Luxes are selling up to $800, FS up to $800+, some of the 550 models are selling very well and have been increasing in price lately. Now that the Grand Finale has pretty much sold out, I see that a relatively plain one just brought more than MSRP at $1201 on GB. At that rate, some of the wood lottery GFs that some folks here have could be bringing $1500 in a GB auction.

Of course there will be the "You're a fool not to buy an Anschutz at that price" scolds, but for some people, some of the CZ models just have an appeal beyond the price point and the on-paper specifications. And most likely, a lot of the people who are paying up for some of these guns already have many possessions that far exceed the cost of an Anschutz rifle, so they are buying the CZ because they want it for their own reasons, not according to someone else's reasoning.

Yup, when I saw that and what the price was I thought for a moment "did I really like my lefties that much?"

A minute or two went by and then I thought, naw, I don't want to get rid of them for even for that price.

I wish there were more left hand options also... but I bought a 457 American 22lr last year and I love it!!! If they ever came out with a left hand version Id snatch one up but until then right hand for now... Just ordered a 457 American in 22 WMR should be in this week... oh and my 457 just put 3 shots in a 1/4 at 50 yards 😊

I check Gunbroker in the morning and evening. I have seen alot of 452s go for big bucks. About 10 days ago Gunbroker only had five 452s for sale. Made me very sad. They are getting pretty scarce. Lefty models even more so. My son in law is a lefty and I should have bought him one a few years ago. Hoping one will come up in the trading post.

I recently picked up a L/H 17HMR American, complete with 2 x mags, suppressor and a Hawke 4-16 x 44 mildot scope. Total cost US$620

Did you see the RH I bought about two weeks ago? It was only on for about 15 minutes. Photos on page 203 of show us your CZ.

That's a beauty! Congratulations!

BTW, your post is #3043. Page numbers are different for different people based upon their browser settings.

That was a great snag, especially for a Fancy grade.

At the end of our 2020 season, I might be selling mine, scoped, with 50 foot scope adapter for indoor paper target, cleaning supplies thrown in and anything else I can think of. lol

LGS had a 452 American with very nice wood that sat in their racks for almost two years without selling, a couple of times I thought about buying it myself, finally someone bought it. Could not figure that one out.

$620...That's about the out-the-door cost of just a rimfire suppressor in the U.S. ...thanks NFA.

JMK

You can pick up new rimfire suppressors here in New Zealand for as little as US$32 to US$100, centrefire suppressors can be had for US$340 or less.

That is about the only firearm related item that is cheaper in NZ than in the USA though....Kiwi
