TBR, sir--just one question: would you like to adopt another grandson? I'm fairly well housebroken, a decent photographer, and I can keep a clean shop!

The pics are on Photobucket, but the account is password protected... hmm wonder why.

I concur. Since the run on .22 ammo started, I've come to appreciate the .22 short as an excellent hopper popper. There's nothing better than hunting rabbits around the homestead with snow on the ground, a full moon, and .22 shorts. The wife doesn't even know I slipped out back at night to eradicate some vermin. I believe my next build will be a short dedicated as well. I'd also like to chime in, WOW! You are a BRASS MASTER, TBR!

Beautiful work!

TBR,

That rifle looks fantastic. I wish you had a school (and I could afford tuition). I admire your skills!

I am late to the thread, but extremely impressed by your work, well done! I really like what I have seen, only a brass trigger housing could make it perfect. I have been hankering for a brass receiver myself but I have been leaning towards using an SML 3D printer rather than trying to machine one completely from billet. I suspect that your machined billet would be stronger though than the deposited metal method.

Well done! You have created a family treasure that will endure for generations, I wonder if you will need to put a serial number on it to be able to hand it down to those future generations though?

How is this going? I'd love to see some nice pics with the scope mounted.

Sir allow me to just say Bravo! give you a standing ovation and offer a prayer that your grandson appreciates this labor of love in the sincere heart of which it is given. You sir are a master in the truest sense of the word, this was not for gain but for sacrifice which makes the beauty through and through.

again bravo.

A few. The OP, Teddy Bear Rat did a range report after one year:

https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...d.php?t=555389

He recently posted a thread in which he took the rifle squirrel hunting:

https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...d.php?t=556972

And this rifle won first place in the "Ultimate 10-22 of the Month" contest in September last year:

https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums...d.php?t=521714

You may also find this thread interesting. Another member, Candyx is building one from scratch with a stainless steel receiver designed with a thicker rear wall on the receiver to allow a second takedown screw for a free floated barrel, which is threaded into the receiver:

Oh- and

Hey, a NEW GUY... WELCOME to RFC!!!!!

Regards-

DrGunner
