I just bought a nib 452 fs . The problem I ran into is when the clip is in and you go to extract spent case the bolt gets hung up half way back. Seems like the magazine well is too high. So I put a brass washer between mag well and action. Seems to work I will shoot it when I get off work today.

No Never I would look at the magazine...to make sure the follower is not put in backwards...there have been some reports of that lately...all of my CZ rifles NEVER EVER had a problem like that...there is something is out of place.

Good luck on your quest and congrats on finding a FS rifle...you will love it

You shouldn't have to shim anything to get your magazine to function properly. If you have other 452 magazines, try shooting it with a known good one and see if the problem persists.

I tried other mags same problem. By putting a washer in rear of mag well it lowered it and now seems to work. Won't get to try it out till tonight. I now I shouldn't have to do this for it to function properly.

If it’s not the magazine, have you checked the magazine well? They are plastic and it could be cracked. Though I have never had this problem with any CZ 452, either.

Dogtrailerguy, please call CZ-USA in Kansas City, KS and ask for a gunsmith. Run this by him/her. I agree that you should not have to shim anything to make it work properly. They may want you to send it back to them under the warranty - if so they will send you a shipping label via email. I had to do this on my first 455 Varmint. They took care of me, the only down side is that the turn around time is about 6 weeks.

All 3 of my 452 will do it IF I touch the mag at all. They still function but with a little hitch .

You said it was NIB. Did you buy it from a dealer or a private person. I would still call CZ-USA and ask for a gunsmith (not a customer service rep.) Let them make the call. It may be a simple fix that they are aware of.

I have a 455 fs and it is my favorite. Gumshoe

I bought it from a dealer. I shot it tonight work perfect with original magazine and single shot adapter. I'm just going to leave like it is with shim and shoot the heck out it.

The rear screw on the magazine may be torqued too tightly and has crushed the magazine holder or is interfering with the bolt operation. I've seen the problem before. Went to a DIP magazine holder.

I like the DIP magazine wells too. I realize that in order to make their price point, CZ must cut a corner or two; the plastic magazine well is one of those corners. The stamped steel trigger guard is another corner they cut, but at least it's steel, and not plastic (I replace the stamped trigger guards with DIP trigger guards; they're worth the expense and the wait).
