I know, the Tikka just begs to be shot. I don't have a round count but I would bet I have at least 3000 rounds through each of my T1x 22LR's.

I'm considering selling off some of my CZ's and purchasing a Steyr. I'll not be getting rid of my Tikka though.

That's a good question. My answer is, if you find the right ammo for both rifles, they'll be equally accurate.
I don't have a 457, I lost interest in any new CZs a while ago.
The Tikka is easily the most accurate .22 sporter I've owned. That may be a result of finding that CCI SV shoots very well through this rifle, as does Eley Force HV.
It doesn't like Tenex, and purely detests Center X.

These are the most recent test targets. I shot over a chronograph, hoping to find the velocity "sweet spot" the Tikka likes.

I shot prone using a bipod and rear bag, was in a bit of a hurry to get it done before the weather turned to rain. I think I can improve on some of the results, the biggest goal was getting velocity numbers.

My impression was more what the rifle didn't like, than what it did like. It looks as if the traditional 1060-1075 speed zone for most match ammo isn't a happy spot for the Tikka. Both Center X and Tenex are in that general area, and both groups look more like shotgun patterns. I shot the Center X on a previous range trip, and had velocity numbers for it also.

Although the Tikka did ok with slower ammo, it's the apparent taste for higher velocity that I find interesting.

I have an F-class rimfire match coming up soon, unfortunately I don't have enough Force to shoot the whole match. It'll be either Biathlon Sport or CCI SV getting the nod this weekend.

Mine likes Center X and Midas Plus but that's interesting. I'll try some higher velocity and see how it likes them.

One thing to consider is that my rifle isn't 100% original. It has a T3 walnut stock, which doesn't have the barrel spacer or "shoehorn" as some call it. It's fully floating from the action forward. Plus it still has the original plastic thread protector on the barrel.

Hey chilly, another higher velocity ammo you may want to try is CCI SGB. Got a good group with it today.

.
This has been my experience. Mine is in a wood ProVarmint stock and fully free-floated. Here's a target from yesterday. Ignore the top row - that's Lithgow 101 with Federal Ultramatch. The next row down is the Tikka with Eley Contact - a couple of 10-shot groups and some 5's. Rows below that are Eley Club and Target, as marked. Shot off a Rock BR front rest and a Protektor rear bag with nylon bunny ears. All groups were shot at 50 yards.

You almost were a hunter, KOD! Every target I shoot is just preparation for smack'n critters.
My Tikka has already gotten 4 crows. But no flies yet.

Kod, I was referring to the fly that got away. I guess that's not really hunting but for me everything is hunting.

Oh, that was flangster's lucky fly, case of mistaken identity, KOD. Sorry for adding to the confusion around here
