I can't be the only person on earth who would really like to see someone build a high quality rimfire scope with a 7/8 inch diameter tube like they made in the good old days. If I had the expertise and money I would start a optics company myself and the flagship product would be a slim high quality hunting scope, that looks like it belongs on a rimfire squirrel rifle. Maybe a 2-7x or a 3-9x.

I am not aware of any high quality 7/8 scope for rimfires. The ones I recall were is distant last place to the lowest price Bushnell 1" Banner (made in Japan) back in the day.

Specifically what scope are we talking? Weaver? Seems like I saw some clones with improved coated lenses available now, the 330?

IIRC, These 7/8 scopes were fixed power. There may have been some variables. Most were fixed.

I agree, a good quality 7/8ths would be nice. I've got a couple of the Leupold made Alaskans. They were 7/8ths tube, I think they made 2.5x, 4x and 6x. I have a 4x on my Browning SA 22lr and I think it's perfect. They seem to be very hard to find these days and aren't cheap when you do see one.
