Thanks jst. I like it a lot. I have Birchwood Casey Gun Stock Wax and I'll apply that soon. Their web site says to let the Tru-Oil set for 7+ days to completely cure. Have to give it more time.
I was also thinking the same as you about filing off the sides to make it 3'8" wide if I need a .650" front.
I'll just have to wait on my range findings. Skinner got enough of my money for now LOL.

Yes
Skinner did real well between all of us. I am not sure how the 22lr works at 50 yards because I think at 25 yards it's still rising and I think it centers again at 75 yards but not sure.

I have an old blued-steel Lyman #56 click-adjustable rear peep I've been thinking about adding to a Micro Midas...just not sure I can bring myself to drill and tap the receiver cover. Would look good though, and I would be able to get it almost as low as the stock rear leaf.

If you get the sight straight it works well. I have a Williams 39A FP sight on my older 1980 BL-22. The receiver is not a cover on the BL series. It is a steel receiver. It does have an alloy steel frame that holds the trigger and all internals but the receiver is really nice and pretty thick steel.

I like the Williams sight on mine. It really is my favorite shooter. I got it with the receiver already drilled for the sight by a previous owner at some point.

Thanks. I worded what I was trying to say wrong. I've had mine apart, and don't recall the steel being all that thick. As anyone who's had one apart knows, the fit between the 'frame' and 'receiver' is pretty tight. I have visions of having to shorten screws, slotting the frame, etc. I have bad luck.
