BSA Model 12 with Fecker 20x

Our Silhouette range is starting up a “tactical” rimfire game with animals at 50, 100, 150 and 200 meters. We weren’t set up with the 1/5 scale targets this past weekend but I decided to check elevations at the 1/2 size targets. I shot my BSA Model 12 with a Fecker 20x scope with Federal Gold Medal Match prone off a bag. I was getting consistent center hits out to 200 m and even knocking over some of the thick turkeys @ 150. First string of rams was 4 for 5, but then the wind came up and my elevations were all off so 0 for 0. Challenging game but this old girl can shoot and it will be a gas competing against bipoded CZs and Anschutzes with modern scopes. I’m amazed at how bright the Fecker is, and how repeatable the settings are. Also, plenty of elevation without an MOA rail because you’re not limited by an internal moving reticle. Super fun!

BSA Martini rifles are/were superbly built for the period and some can still shoot with the best out there.

Plenty of info on link here-under.

Last month we had our annual invitational 200yd sil match, scaled critters, 22LR only, mostly vintage rifles and those scoped with ext. adj. only. Iirc the 2nd place went to a chap with a 12/15 topped with a Lyman STS.
This match has never had the rails cleaned in the 7? years doing it and these boys are shooters.
I predict you will have BIG fun with this one

I’m really looking forward to it! I have a Mark III Intl with PH irons, and it shoots lights out, even with my substandard eyesight. There’s something about these Martinis with period-correct scopes, however, that’s compelling. It’s interesting that random people at the range will stop and comment about how cool these rifles are, even if they can’t identify them. The aesthetics draw folk in.

Don't have a word for it myself, but they do draw admiring glances and comments like; what the hell is that, can I shoot it, .........

My Int. MkIII is a wonder with a 20x, albeit my scope is an older fixed power Tasco for a long time now. It attracts attention even so as is, many younger shooters have no idea such was ever made.

Thumbs up

yup....those old scopes are amazing...ive got a 1950ish international with a very rare lyman supertargetspot in the even more rare 30x that was fitted with ultra fine crosshairs and a 1/16 lee dot.....and very repeatable
