Back to farm with lots of cedar. Shag bark hickory nuts are few and far between. No slick bark hickory on this farm I don’t think. Squirels get full faster eating white oak acorns vs hickory nuts.
Bagged 5.
Had 4 of these out by 6:35 am.

Brings Aug 22 season opener total to 215.
And career harvest to 51,056

Squirrel1, you got me hooked. I can't wait for your daily post to see what you kill next. I was just about to start bragging on my squirrel hunting ability but now I'm just gonna keep my mouth shut.

You've earned your sign-on name!! I think I've had a good year when I get 50-60, but WOW, you're SQUIRREL HUNTER in ALL CAPS.

Some higher wind here this morning. No hunt. Wind off of Sally. Looks like next 2-3 days high wind. May get out some in the late evening. Not sure. Anyways have this if you can believe this a 27+ inch wide buck spotted. Very unusual for these parts. Goi;g to try and bust himwith my Ravin crossbow. Week from Saturday. There is another big buck in area not near as wide though. Squirrel hunting will go on hold. This deer could be record deer.

I just getting ready to say the squirrels will get trampled to death as soon as the deer hear the nuts dropping. Setting in a tree stand during bow season, you could hear the deer eating nuts. Sounded like someone eating ice.
