Yes, I feel like it is prudent for the time. I don't have any of the answers. It seems horrible to fleece shooters by selling or buying .22lr at ten times its value. During the last shortage I noticed that the poor quality stuff jumped to 8 or 9 times its value, but the good match stuff remained available the whole time. Not this time, this time it is either being snapped up regardless of price or hoarding.

Looks like I am not going to get a day to shoot weatherwise this month. Currently 20 degrees with snow on ground. Long range I think mid March as earliest.

Things are kind of ugly for us down here in Texas. Power has been on about 75% of the time since yesterday, which is a huge improvement. Water is starting to trickle out of the faucets in some areas of Houston but there is a boil notice for consumption.

Received word yesterday that the chicken coop range for the Coop Shoot (indoor air rifle silhouette regional) collapsed under a load of snow and is closed for good. That match was supposed to be the weekend after next. Sad day for us Texas/Louisiana/Arkansas air rifle folks and devastating for the Hatch family.

The weather is supposed to improve this weekend so hopefully I'll get some range time in and have some scores to post.

Looks like you should keep shooting in the cold Kingrider, that 492 is nice!.

Did you post the scores in the order you shot them----just wondering as most of the dropped points are the first two listed targets?

I'm still on the air rifle where it's warmer, no 22 outside for now. I did shoot about 40 rounds out of a 375 AI06 last weekend---I figure that will impact my shooting in a negative way...HA!

The weather here is improving, slightly, best wishes to those in Texas, Ok and all the states that are in the winter storm path with no power.

As for me, I'm still burning up my stash of cheaper ammo on the offhand. I might see where I am if I shoot the good stuff next month, but practice will be the cheap stuff for now mostly.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Yes, I posted them in order. Seems like more often than not I start a little slower than I finish but not always. Maybe I should take more warm up shots but with the ammo situation I just start as soon as I can. I do some holding drills and dry fire too. That also helps to conserve ammo.

WEATHER: Clear and sunny, wind 3-5 gusting to 'bout 10 mph, 27*. Nicest day we've had around here for 2 or 3 weeks. I haven't pulled a trigger for a month.

Also, this is the first time I have ever shot with snowshoes. We have 15-18" of snow on the ground. The snowshoes are not very stable. Between digging out the shooting bench, ( the snow was up to the seat ) drilling out the target holder holes ( they were filled with ice) and walking 150 yds. one way, up and down the 11% grade hill, 3 times, to the bench in all of that snow kinda pooped me out. Had to take a 1/2 hour break before I felt rested enough to have at it.

On the 2nd bull that I shot a 98, I had a perfect score going, then pulled the last shot into the 8 ring. Grrrr

PB. Way to persevere through the conditions! Nice shooting specially with what you had to do beforehand. I know that shot number 10 for a 100 can get your heart going faster than you want. I missed a month too and can’t wait for the weather to improve.

I wasn't getting too excited about the score. My heart rate never went up. At the time, it was "just another shot".

Then I jerked the trigger. And I knew that I jerked the trigger the instant the shot broke.

I guess I’m guilty of keeping score in my head on each bull. When I have a 100 going I get more excited toward my last shots. I need to stop doing that and just concentrate on each individual shot and it might help me do better. Although my main problem is over holding. When I hold too long and still break the shot it usually doesn’t work out.

As long as the sky is clear and the wind isn't blowing, -6* really isn't too bad.

Those of you in the more "temperate climates" probably think that sort of thinking is crazy.

Notes: Very windy day shooting a rifle that has more trigger pull than the gun weighs. The front sight had a very shiny spot on it and I carry a cigarette lighter for just such things but the wind was blowing so hard I could not find a place to smoke the front sight. The resulting flare caused me to shoot most of my shots to the left.
