The Green Monster is alive and well over in the CZ Scoped 25 yard matches. We try to put as many of them to rest as we can April through December. Since the matches started in 2016 there have only been 17 scores of 250 posted with the highest X count of 13. There are some pretty good shooters over there monthly but cleaning a Green Monster is a task even at 25 yards.

My range has a rip-roaring USBR match just entering its 4th year.
We shoot 2 targets each month on the 1st Saturday with 2 (soon to be 3) division's with over 30 shooters and growing.

So it's not dead for us, but we do have our own set of rules.
It's not sanctioned.

It's been a blast.

By the way I shot a 25yd target for another thread (not the CZ thread).
I shot it only once just for fun, and scored a 250-17X.

It was with my Anschutz 1727F rifle with a NF 15-55X scope on it, so way way out of the CZ rules.

Now if I could do that at 50 yds I would be a very happy camper

Nice target Smooth. I guess I was just saying that the Green Monster can be a challenging target with the rules we shoot. If I could produce a target like that I would be the King of the Rooste for quite some time.

The "green monster" is a challenge for anyone at 50 yards. Never tried it at 25 yards. There has not been anyone in our group get a 250 at 50. If I remember the best has been a 247 with a good shooter and high quality bench rest rifle. We do not allow a single piece rest, must use front and rear rests.

In our match we only allow bi-pods or some type of sand bag in the front.
Any rear bag is fine.
No tuners are allowed.

Here is my setup when I shot the 25yd target.

In our 3 years worth of matches the highest scores have been 247's with various X counts on them.
The high X count on the 247's has been a pair of 7's.
The highest X count shot on any target has been 10.
