510P receiver sight

i'm looking at a 510P that is missing the rear sight and ramp front sight. It has a period correct side mount scope, which i would probably remove. Other than that, it looks to be in good shape.

I am wondering if the sight base for a Lyman or Redfield receiver sight ( a la 513T-521T ) will fit the factory drilled holes on the 510P and would be compatible with the front sight height? Anyone tried this?

Same guy has a pristine ( claims to be unired and outwardly appears to be true ) 511 with box. Wants $550 for it, not sure if it's worth it but it is above my pay grade.

What sayeth the enablers?

I doubt that any base would help you out--best bet is to get on ebay and grab a Point-Chrometer factory sight. Front sight shouldn't be hard to find.

thanks dustoffer, pretty much confirms the research i've done since my OP. Watching a couple of factory peeps on the Bay of E. Will go back to the gunshow in the morning and take a closer look at then rifle.

Stick with the factory parts. They're fantastic!

the p model sights are currently selling for more then i paid for most of my complete 510's - the ramp front is the same as the 513 GI one and is readily available from many sources - there is enough room to drill + tap for a Lyman 57rs or Williams 5d-510 with out disturbing factory P mounting holes - be careful some of the ones listed on Ebay are for the older 33p models + have different hole spacing then the 500 series P sights -
