Anybody know anything about the old Remington 22 ammo decorative tins? I have a chance to buy a bunch of them with the deer, elk, bear, etc. all sealed and new. Approximate value?

I have seen several of these sold at gun shows and a few auctions. Many are never bought unless they are selling for the value of the ammo. I also have been a very active buyer of both the tins and the wooden box ammo and have rarely paid the inflated prices retailers charge when the items are new.

I personally prefer the wooden boxes, but there are folks that prefer the tins and some of us that have both. A caution: Either sell them full or completely empty. Hardly anyone wants a partial.

Good Luck!

Good ole WM. I caught 4 tins, just post Xmass, in 2005 or so. Marked at around $11.88 but on sale for $3 or $4. I have seen them for sale at $100. Yup still got em

Rem Tins

If you like it or not, the Remington sealed tins go for $50 at the least, to $75 plus a buyers premium on online auction sites. When I bought mine they ranged from $9.82 to $12.97 each , plus tax. If you didn't buy them in the early 2000's you usually can't get them very cheap. There are 5 different rectangular tins with pictures of big game, and 1 square tin with a picture of a rabbit. They were around for Christmas in as many years. The NASCAR tins with .22 ammo in them have 5 different variations in the cars and drivers. In the early 2000's I went to K Mart and offered $9.95 for all of the Remington metal cars they had in stock, I bought 22 of them. I sat on them for a number of years, and tripled my money. I sold the last car about 3 years ago.If you are a shooter, don't buy them to shoot now, if you are a collector, you are buying them about 15 to 20 years too late.

The " THE RETURN of THE HUNTER " metal .22 replica was made in England, shipped back to the US, and filled with .22 shells. The problem with them was the thin metal tube was easily damaged in shipment.

There is a Morgan Shepherd race car tin on eBay right now. $10 plus shipping. It's not mine. I'm just sharing if someone is looking to buy.
