December funshoot

For the funshoot this month we will be shooting a normal USBR target at 25 yards. The only difference is that we will be scoring it differently. For this month, instead of scoring it best edge, we will be scoring it worst edge. What i mean by this is that when you go to score the target, instead of selecting the highest ring that the bullet hole touches, we will be doing it the other way around so you will be choosing the lowest ring that the bullet hole touches. The highest score would be 225-25x

Edit: I have changed the rules a bit so there will be X's in this funshoot. So if your bullet is covering the complete 10 ring, you would score it as a 9x instead of a 10x

There will be the usual 20 minute time limit as well.

Here are some pictures if you are having some trouble understanding

Edit: I have switched the rules a bit so the target above target would actually be a 9x instead of 9 like the picture shows...

GENERAL RULES:
----------------------------------------------
1. From the front edge of the bench to the face of the target: 25 yards.

2. Weight: There is no limit on weight of the rifle or pistol.

3. Sights: There are no restrictions on scope power.

4. Iron sights with aperture rear and globe front may be used.

5. Diopter attachments may be used in iron sights.

6. Triggers may be adjusted to a light pull, but must be safe.

7. Ammunition must be Rimfire: .22 Magnum and .17 HMR are allowed.

8. Rests: Shoot over sandbags, shot bags, rice bags or any old bag. Use a tripod, bipod, a block of wood or a rock for your front rest. A bunny ear or rabbit ear sandbag is recommended for buttstock support. Shoot from a bench. Shoot prone with a sling or over sandbags. Shoot over a log or the hood of your pickup if you want. One piece rests are allowed. Rests must not be secured to the bench. If you can push the rifle forward after recoil, and the crosshairs are back on the aiming point, it is a “return to battery” rest, and return to battery rests are not allowed.

9. If you shoot a target for the 25 yard unlimited match, you may score your target as that class and you may score it for this class.

10. You may attempt to shoot this up to 4 times (per rifle) but please classify how many times you have attemped.

11. You may shoot on an indoor range from December to March. If you shoot indoors: For the December match, type (INDOORS) at the beginning of the third line of your score report.

12. Junior Shooters: The minimum age of a young person allowed in these competitions will be determined by the parent. A Junior shooter is a young persons who has not reached the age of 18. If your are a Junior: Type (Age 14): Or whatever your age, at the end of the first line of your score report.

I hope that i have made everything clear but if there are any questions you can send me a PM or ask me here.

Thanks and good shooting
Jordan

I was originally not going to do it with the X's but i think that it may be a bit more fun to do it with the X's so to answer you question: Yes, X's do still count. I will edit these new rules into my originall rules.

206 6x Bernie Porten. Auburn, New York (autoloader)
Ruger 10/22, Weaver T36, Lapua Master L
GM 16in fluted stainless barrel, modified nutmeg Blaster stock, Caldwell Rock front rest, Protector bags, self inflicted factory trigger. .

Shot this 25 yard target a couple of days ago, the only target this month (so far). The weather wasn’t to bad but its winter for sure. decided to post the score to try to encourge some shootin. It was great to get out and get some fresh air and shoot my ruger. Man, I love that little 10-22. I haven’t had as much trigger time as I need to do my best but the 250 10x made me smile.

Chum . . .

YES: I got some more scoring gauges. Both .22 and .17 caliber.

$5.00 for one and I pay the postage.

Ya want one of each? $9.00 for the pair and I pay the postage.

Joe :-)
