Between

- a lot and alot and allot?
- affect and effect?
- ensure and insure?
- emigrate and immigrate?
- there and their and they're
- led and lead?
- moot and mute?
- depreciating and deprecating?
- "intensive purposes" and "intents and purposes"?
- bondage and bonding?
- regardless and irregardless?
- allusion and illusion
- jibe and jive?
- precede and procede?

English is such a mongrel language that even people who grow up with it don't always use it correctly.

I was taught that irregardless isn't a proper word. Regardless is the correct use word.

Hard to believe that English has become so widely accepted worldwide.

Spanish is so simple, and much easier to learn. For example, 90% of the time a vowel is what it is, not one out of a possible four pronunciations.

Never knew the difference between Gage and Gauge until I worked in an aerospace concern as an assembler/tester.

Welder and Weldor.
