Shooting left handed I haven't had a 22lr bolt for many years. But now that I'm only bench shooting, I thought I get one. It only has about 300 rounds through it, but it made the cut.

I shot this yesterday, with SK Rifle Match.
5 shot groups. .248-.248-.185-.185 -- .216 average.

CZ 455 Varmint--22lr
trigger spring change, 1# 4oz.
Mueller 8x32 Target dot.

Shot this today...

CZ 455 Varmint, 24" threaded barrel, Boyd's stock, with Fiocchi SM 300 ammo.
Group sizes: .118, ,113, .134, .052

This rifle is my glad-to-be-alive present. 5 years ago (to the day) I had some serious health issues. I almost met the Reaper.

I only got the rifle 3 weeks ago, it's got about 300 rounds down the tube...

It can only get better!

Finally made it!

Marlin XT-22 Stainless. I swapped the original tupperware stock for a factory Marlin laminate wood stock. Otherwise bone stock including the 3# trigger.

Eley tennex 5 shot groups with 2 shots of blazers or minimags in between the groups to "unseason" the excess lube out of the bore.

Groups were:
0.177, 0.185, 0.131, and 0.175. Average is 0.167".

The target:

The rifle with the last group of SK Pistol (that was close buy didn't make it.

I am going to retry Wolf, SK Pistol, and Eley Club with the magic cheap shots in between to see if it strips out the excess lube and brings them in as well.

Thanks Al.

Yeah - totally weird.

It is repeatable - so whatever is happening - a couple rounds of HV settle it down between groups.

I am going to investigate the barrel with a borescope to see of I can gain any insight into what is going on... Maybe so, maybe not....

I last posted on this thread in 2014 with one target shot at an indoor range in a vey awkward conditions.

05-16-14

Anschutz 1727 F
Muzzel .700" -- Standard Class
Leupold 3-9x 33mm EFR Ultra Light
BullsBag -- no rear rest
CCI TNT .17hmr

Shot at 25yds, Indoors.

This was way harder to shoot than I had expected. Without a rear bag, sitting on a stool made it a real challenge to keep the gun still. I won't go into all the details, but it took me ten minutes of fiddling around to start the target.

I feel very fortunate to have only that one poor shot on target #4, considering how tough to was to keep rifle on target.

This target was a one-off, mainly because this isn't a contest to see who can shoot the smallest average. Having said that, I think I could go smaller at 25yds if I shot off a bench using my rear bag.

Please evaluate the 25yd target for inclusion in the Challenge.

Smooth

Update: 06/03/19
Back then my range did not have a 25yd line.

Since then this thread has kinda died off.
However I just built a 25yd target stand for my range in order to shoot in RFC's "Fun Matches.
New stand in positon at 25yds.
A closer look at the stand using a fellow range member as a model.

I'm thinking about shooting for this thread, assuming it continues to get going again.

Question: Looks like my 1727F-22 CISM is out because of the adjustable cheek rest, butt hook, and for-end rail.
However when I shoot it, the butt hook and cheek piece are removed, and the bipod can be attached to a stud adaptor in the rail

I have an Anschutz stock 1727F.17hmr, Anschutz 1416 TH with a Benchmark barrel, Anschutz 1717D with a Lija barrel, * stock 1727F-22 CISM, and a Kidd Supergrade.
*It's an official Anschutz rifle with a warranty and certificate.
I think most of these are ok to shoot.

I know you can't use a tuner.
