Got my 22/45 back today

I got my Mark IV 22/45 back from Ruger today. It only took them one week. Took longer for shipping than it took for them to solve the problem.

They replaced my barrel, did the warrantee work on the safety and gave me a new set of grips. I didnít send grips back and had all the original parts in a baggie instead of putting the gun back together after taking off my TK and VQ parts.

The trigger is now set at 3.5 lbs with lots of take-up but tomorrow Iíll put the Victory trigger back in and that will take care of the take-up.

They asked me to send back two magazines so they could test the gun after the barrel repair. Unfortunately they only sent me back one magazine. I called today and they are sending two magazines tomorrow. The letter that came with the gun said they tested with 40 rounds of CCI Blazer ammo. Blazer has always worked well in this pistol.

I also have to put my C-More back on. Friday Iíll take it to the range and make sure itís working properly.

why did they replace your barrel?

did they do something to lighten the trigger (to 3.5lbs)?

When cleaning the barrel would slide back and forth in the receiver so it had to be replaced.

I lucked out with the trigger pull. I was expecting over 4 lbs but it's 3.5 from my Lyman digital scale. Lowest reading 3.1 highest 3.9oz.

It's copper, just WB from the camera changed it. I'll work on getting the color correct.

did you not know about the Davidson's Exclusive one? Item # 43910

I have been looking at these for my 11 year old daughter to shoot in the rimfire challenge. She did okay with my mark 111 bull barrel, besides me having to support it at the bottom while she shot. It is just too heavy for her to shoot well by herself. The mark iii also had a couple double feed issues with agulla pistol match ammo. Is the lite that much lighter or better shooting? and how is it balanced? How does this pistol handle different ammo. I have thousands of bulk winchester and federal ammo. Does anyone here have small framed children shooting rimfire pistols that want to Chime in. Or start a new thread if I have high jacked this one? Thanks for any help.

On the topic of colors, don't forget the green one. I really like all the color options they have with the lite. Gives you a chance to really make the pistol yours, if you know what I mean.
