15-22 stock replacement - any examples?

Log in to see fewer ads
So, I'd like to swap the stock out on one of my 15-22's, but I want to make sure that I get one that someone's actually used/installed before.

I went out and bought the very expensive Magpul UBR stock, and it doesn't work on the rifle. I'm sure that if I knew what I was doing, I probably wouldn't have bought it. Lesson learned.

Can anyone give me an example, including the part number, of a 3rd party manufacturer's stock that fits on and works with the 15-22?

Thank you!!

Both of mine got MOE stocks from Magpul.

Most any stock made for a mil spec carbine buffer tube should fit.

The UBR comes with its own buffer tube, right? Since the tube on the 15-22 is molded as part of the receiver, you're not gonna be able to change it for that one.

Thanks!

Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it.

Yes, the UBR stock does include a new tube. I hadn't noticed that in the image on the Magpul page before; obviously I do now, and it makes sense.

I just put an order in for the MAG480 unit.

I really like this forum board. Seems like a solid bunch of posters, with good conversations and great advice.

I intend to modify an A2 stock to fit my 15-22... telescoping stocks are useless in Finnish legislation because of length restrictions.

Good luck.

I've seen folks use the Fixed MOE stock on them, works on the carbine buffer tube without mods.

The Vltor stock that comes on the current Performance Center version are real nice. The battery compartment creates a largge surface for your cheek when using optics. The heavy rubber butt pad keeps the rifle from sliding on the shoulder too.

I like the ACS stock because it has a nice spot for your cheek plus it's a little longer than most stocks.

very happy with the magpul moe slim line that came on my 15/22.

it's tight fitting, comes with quick attach swivel adapter, and promotes great cheek hold for a lefty.

so much in fact that i'm putting the same one on it's big brother.

I replaced the stock on my MP 15-22 with the Mission First Tactical Battlelink Minimalist Stock. It not loose on the rifle and give it nice clean look.

Another MFT Minimalist user.
It takes about 30 seconds to swap and works, looks great.
