Biathlon 7-2 WMR extraction issue

I'm having an issue with extraction on the FIRST round fired from a CLEAN gun... I've only had it out three times but each time it failed to extract after the first shot... functions fine after that. I don't believe it has anything to do with temperature (cold gun vs warm) since an hour or more may pass between shots... cases look fine no signs of rupture/splits.

I see you say clean , do you have oil in the chamber? Clean chamber , make sure its dry , then see if you have the same issues . An oiled chamber causes more bolt thrust , not allowing the case to grip the chamber during firing . Give a dry chamber a shot , get it , a shot . Oh well , its happened to me .

Chamber clean and bone dry.... the first time it happened I thought perhaps a piece (thread) from the cotton patch was laying in the chamber and when the case expanded the thread held it in place... but for that to have happened 3 consecutive times...? I have had unfired cases stuck in the chamber on some of my Lilja & Shilen barreled .22's which is why I carry an 8" piece of polished brass rod with me when I use them for squirrels... just drop it down the barrel and they come right out .... it took 4 "drops" of the rod to get the fired case out.. I have to see if I can find someone with a bore scope and take a peek at the chamber...... BTW this gun is so accurate it's scary!!!

Possibly spring tension from the remaining rounds in the mag?

Easy to test - load a mag halfway, see if you have the problem on the first round.
