My new Russian IZH 35-M

What a gunshow find. I found this Russian IZH 35M at the Amarillo gun show. The lady was selling it for a student who's school dis-banded the shooting team. She had to have $300, which I politely gave her. Typical Russian, no high polish of the metal, just a totally terrific trigger and a bore that knocks out your eyes .
It also cleans out the X and 10 ring at 20 yds. I am gloating, by the way.

Dude ... what a steal ... Awwww, I mean, what a deal!!!
Hmmmm, I wonder if she had any other Russian firearms at home?
Or, if anyother former team members were doing the same thing with other quality guns.

Did you get the original factory box, cleaning kit and spare parts?
Was a factory test target included?

If you would ... when you disassemble the pistol for cleaning, could you take some detail photos?
It would be great to see some good pictures of the subassemblies - aom22

She wes to check with the student. Maybe another mag, don't know about anything else.
Walther has copied the IZH-35m, put nicer grips, and call it the Walther KSP200. The IZH is the mainstay of the russian olympic 25M shooting teams, I understand. More later

No they did not. Walther use to get the unfinished kit from IZHMASH and polished it off plus some extras and higher price tag.

Mosbear, you are right. Walther essentially brought the pistols from Baikal, did the work you mentioned and sold them as Walthers. The IZH imported here had a grip safety added, which is a pain in the butt for me. I have a hard time gripping the pistol and compressing the safety. I got lucky, and foundd some original mags. I will tell everyone where when I have brought 2 more.

Recalled Another Excellent Resource

Last night, just after I went to bed another excellent site popped into my mind
IZH 35M Resource - Peter Brunelli
Quote:
PLEASE NOTE: I have not owned an IZH35 since the fall of 2002
and am not "in the loop" on the current status of production and availability.

I have been notified by several shooters that EAA has discontinued importing them, or IZH has stopped making them.

If you find a NOS IZH35M --- BUY IT!!!!
IZH 35M
IZH Scrapbook
Larry's Grip Fitting
Pickle's IZH Trigger Page
Pickle's IZH Photo Gallery
Pete Brunelli had a passion for the IZH-35M ... probably still does.
But, he is not current on the model.
Nor, does he seem to be an active shooter.
That being said, his information maybe dated.
Nevertheless, it is still relevant.
The photos at his album are excellent.
Please note the triple links associated with Rimfire Central.
