Guys....I am looking into having these reproduced and made here in the U.S., so keep your fingers crossed and I'll let you know more when I do. The biggest issue is all the hardware bits and pieces including the adjustable buttpad, so I am looking into an option that would make you all VERY happy. I am also in talks with the Russians about importing some other nice goodies and rifles as well, so hopefully soon I'll have some good news to report.

Until the stocks are offered for sale it won't be Christmas - aom22.
I can only hope Christmas comes sooner, rather than later.

azmbl22 - Yes...you are correct. The military SV-99 has a heavy coat of the thick green varnish to help protect it better from the harsher conditions it will probably be exposed to for extended times. The Police/Other Agency one has a more translucent green varnish that lets you see the laminated layers in the wood. To me this one actually looks the best as well as to my other friends who have seen them side-by-side.

aom22 - You Sir are at the top of the list. It's a slow road, but I hope it will be worth it not just for me but for you all too.

woogie man - I am looking to have these inletted for Biathlons initially, BUT that being said...I don't think it would be too difficult to get Sobol and SM-2 rifles in them and it may very well be some very simple changes at the manufacturing level to accomplish this. If the demand is there and it's not cost prohibitive I will definitely pursue that option for you guys.

How hard do you think the existing design would be to make left-hand compatible would be? If not too hard, put me on the "I'll sell my kidney if I have to" list I'm waiting for my re-enlistment bonus now anyway.

Great news that I can't share yet, but I wanted you all to keep the faith.

Curious question though...

Which do you guys like better:

1) The look of the current "green" stocked SV-99.

OR

2) The look of the older one that you could store magazines in the buttstock similar to some of the Sobol stocks?

The older one with translucent green varnish so you can see the layers, inletted for a Biathalon Where do I send the check and how much?

I can't say I want one as much as AOM22, but I'm pretty close behind

My vote

I would rather see the one with the magazine storage, but beggers cannot be choosers.

Count me in for one stock.

Thanks,

George

Almost the same design on Saigas. I think they still use the drill press and hand files instead of the CNC machine tools to make them
