Scoping the BB revisited.

From all I have read and pictures I've seen the BB has a Weaver mount.
Yet in the "Why should BB have a better scope mounting options: Extended Rail & Cheekpeice - How?" thread,
someone mentions the mount in the link below will work in extending eye relief.
Was this a mistake, or does the BB have dovetail grooves too?

I'm looking for a set of rings to extend the mounts
and the best I can come up with are the Weaver Quad locks from Brownells
and it looks like they may gain .5" at best.

I just might epoxy a single Weaver base in the front portion of the receiver if I knew which base to order.

Receiver Rail

I don't know.

On my Legion Sobol the receiver is grooved.

On the Biathlon Basic, the receiver is identical save for the weaver rail.
I suspect the BB receiver is grooved under the weaver rail.
However, dovetail bases (not weaver) should be available from RAA.

SOBOL IS A SMALL BORE RIFLE
Quote:
The receiver is provided with a dovetail base to accept an optical sight.
The design of the mounts allows to deliver fire over the iron sight without detaching the optical one.

I sent them an email to inquire about the "Sight Leaf" listed for the BB. I did't see anything else listed. I also asked if there was a way I could get the dovetail rail that comes on the Sobol. I will let you know what they say. Thanks.

Additional Scope Base

How about extending the weaver rail?
This way you can have more flexibility in ring placement on the scope.

Remember, the scope will, eventually, need to come-off.
In-order to properly clean your rifle.

I'd stay away from epoxying a base to the receiver.

Eventually ... solvents, oil, grease, cleaning solutions, mechanical shock, etc. will attack the bond with the base and receiver.

It is just a matter of time.

Moreover, without specialized equipment (ultra sonic) it is next to impossible
to inspect, test or check the integrity of an epoxy bond.

The BKL 254 4" Unitized Cantilever Scope Mount
can be mounted on a weaver rail by using an adapter.
