Muzzle brake removal and damage from weights

The 3 Allen screws are out but the brake only moves about 1/4". The sight is still on. Something is holding it.

Also, will damage on bottom of the barrel from weight screws hurt the value. Thinking about drilling and tapping the barrel.

I hate to see the barrel chewed up like that. Some people are just not smart enough to do it right. Yes is hurts the value. Thought those three part weights are a pain to install.

The 3rd set screw I assume you mean in the front sight, has no bearing on the comp. But leave it out for now. Try a hard plastic rod to tap the comp free. The two set screws have probably buggered the notches in the barrel out to interfere the removal. A hot air gun, hotter than a hair dryer, but not hot as a flame might help expand the comp.

I would not tap a space barrel. Get an after market one.
