Question Bearcat as EDC?

Log in to see fewer ads
Anyone carry their Bearcat as EDC? I've started to; it is quite nice to have with me all day long. I use a Tom Threepersons, staight hang, and a pick-box for the ammo.
I also carry a Case M3 Finn to go with it. I like having small accouterments with me; very convenient.

Welcome to RFC Creampuff. Not all posts get much or any response, it's not personal. I like my Shopkeeper but it's too pretty to use as a knock around piece. My EDC is a little folding handle North American Arms .22 mag 5 shot derringer.

Hope you enjoy the forums, lot's of good people and good info to be had. A bit of chaff too but if you hang around long you'll get to know who to trust and who to ignore.

Frank

I would be much more likely to carry a shopkeeper bearcat for personal defense if it were available in 22 Mag. Especially if I had two of them.

Thanks, Frank.

Loke, yes, magnum would be nice. Sometimes I toy with the idea of having my cylinder converted.

I've got two stainless regular Bearcats. I've thought about one as EDC, but overall length, 9 inches, is a bit long. Reloads are slow, and the Shopkeeper version is even more awkward.

NAA's mini revolvers would be a lot smaller and lighter, but one less round and even harder to reload.

After first trying a snub SP101 (ultimately too heavy and clunky), I've settled on a NAA Guardian 32. Shirt pocket size, all stainless, seven rounds, magazine reloads, 15 ounces loaded. That's nine ounces less than an empty Bearcat. Centerfire is more reliable and effective, but I'm not one of the "bigger is better" crowd; .32 ACP is enough.

.

I don't have a Shopkeeper nor have I handled one. Thanks for the info, though.

Do you mean EDC like for self defense or EDC for someone who works outside on their property like a farmer or rancher ?

I have considered holstering my Bearcat on fishing trips.

Good for you!
Is that 3.5" too big (practically speaking) for the front pocket?
Thanks.

Unless you've got real big pockets, yes, I think so.

Wow, that looks great. I carry mine in a Tom Threepersons; I'll have to take and post some pictures.
Thanks for sharing!
