Have had as many as 14 frames, but currently pared down to 7. I don't think three barrels would fill my frames up! I like .22lr of course. Second would be 6mm tcu carbine. Third would be a toss up between .17hmr and .357max carbines. Hope I never have to make these choices.

Some years back I had a fairly serious T/C collection sickness as well. (2) G1 frames, (1) Encore frame, and (17) pistol barrels many of which were wildcat rounds so I had to reload in order to shoot them. I would have had a difficult time pairing that down to just three barrels for sure . . . so sold the entire collection. Sure wish I had a few of those back . . .

Attempt to select three for a G1 or G2 frame.

1. 22 Match 12"
2. 221 Fireball 12"
3. 410 12"

I prefer the bull barrels across the board.

If you require a bit more power you could substitute a 357 Mag or 44 Mag in a 12" Hunter configuration in place of the 221 Fireball.

I would have to getride of too many barrels to only have three left!! I have some hard to find barrels like 9mm, 30 carbine, and 45acp. A couple that shoot 22lr like like the 22Jet with an insert and a 22 match. Even the 41Mag barrel is not easily replaced. Isn't it sacrilege to ONLY have three Contender barrels?

I have:
12" 22LR MGM stainless
10" T/C 22LR Match blue
10" T/C 22 Mag blue
10" T/C 357 Mag stainless

Currently, I am considering a 21" MGM 22Lr stainless to convert one of my frames to a rifle.

I'll play, been shooting/collecting TC's since the early 70's and I have about 3 barrels for my Contender. Of course I have about 3 barrels for each of my frames also

If I were to have just one frame the following barrels would be my go-to set:

1st: 22lr Match 14inch
2nd: 223 14inch
3rd: 45/410 14inch

But like the potato chip commercial says "You can't have just 3" or something to that effect!

Three Barrels?

I'd recommend the following:

.22 LR 10" Bull with iron sights or 14" with scope
.357 MAG 10" Bull, also handles .38's
.44 MAG 14" with iron sights or scope, also handles .44 specials

Finally back up to three barrels. I have a LR, 357 Mag, and just picked up an unfired 32-20 WCF barrel by SSK. I have stuck to what I put in my original post 🙂 .I will be happy if this is all I ever have, though I have yet to shoot the SSK barrel. I have everything covered from mice to deer (and maybe even then some).
