Going back to the C-More

I've been trying the Vortex Venom for the past 6 months and have decided to go back to my C-More.

The Vortex has a 6 minute dot but is just not bright enough for me in the sun during our monthly Steel Challenge Match. I find myself searching for the dot more then I should.

The C-More is much brighter and I use a 12 minute dot. I have no troubles finding it.

I switched because the C-More eats up a battery every month while the Vortex battery last about a year. I still have one on my back-up gun.

I find the bigger window helps a lot as well as the dot brightness. That said I have to turn the dot brightness down on my C Mores the Vortex I run maxed out and they still aren't bright enough. As far as battery life I am on my second season on both.

I took it to the range today and first shot from the bench to sight it in. All shots fit in a 2 inch bullseye which is pretty good shooting for me. Then I switched to off hand and kept everything inside a 4 inch circle. For me this is more than I've been able to do in the past 2 years. Everything just seemed to work out right. I was able to keep my dot on the center circle and the shots just broke perfectly.

I'm glad I went back to the C-More.

Now practice off hand weak hand. At our outlaw steel matches it is interesting to watch some of the top shooters work for there hits. A descent weak hand shooter will humble some of the speed demons.
