Okay Dave, I`m jealous of your 75 degrees today. Is raining and about 35 degrees here. The next time I go to the range for this target, I`ll take the 452 FS along and see how it does at 50 yards with the iron sights. You have given me a benchmark to go by. Have a Happy New Year!
Dave

Open iron sights at 50 yards...

Old eyes are a handicap more so with open sights than with peep sights. There is a tradeoff in where the rear open sight is positioned. If far back, you have an increased sight radius, but with old eyes, a very blurry rear sight. Move it far forward and it clears up but the sight radius has decreased. I did try a peep sight of sorts on this rifle and it did pretty good work. I have other rifles with peep sights and I like the flexibility of the open sights on the CZ Lux. I do have an Ultra Lux up North and may switch it with the Lux this coming summer.

Yes, bring out the "lesser" rifles and give them a shot (pun intended) at this game. It is a great way to spend time when it is windy and we just know we can't shoot our best scores with our best rifles and best ammo.
