does the mossberg 144A come with the heavy bull barrel only or can the mossberg target weight barrel or the heavy bull barrel be found on the 144A. i am seeing mossberg 144A barrels for sale that are NOT heavy weight bull barrels but the seller is calling them bull barrels. i have a 144 bull barrel and they are noticeably larger in diameter than the heavy weight target barrels. need some clarification.

The 144LSB and its military counterpart have the larger barrel. The barrel is about the same diameter as the receiver. I'm confused about your reference to a 144A barrel?

There is no 144A, the original was only stamped 144, the LS and LSA share the same size barrel as the original 144. As Ross stated the LSB and US trainer are the only ones with the heavy barrels.

144,144LS and 144LSA have what I call a medium heavy weight barrel. They are by no means a pencil barrel. I believe they shoot just as well or better than the truck axle barrels.

At first I thought he was referring to a 142A, but his other statements got me straight. You are probably right, I have been proving wrong before.

Maybe OP will shed some light on 144A. Said he was looking at some ads, maybe ad was misrepresented?

I have often heard the Barrel of the LSB referred to as a truck axle.

You can never say never with these old mossbergs, with in the last 4 or 5 years I have come across two new models that we were never aware of. One was a 26B or C(a) and I believe Tfrank ended up with the barrel off eBay. The other was a 51(a) I believe, don't hold me to it as it has been awhile.
