Team RFC Changes

Hi everyone!

We apologize that the Team RFC system has been down for so long, but we're coming back and it's better than ever. The old system was a custom solution and is now out of date, and many of you know the troubles we've had with upgrades working, upgrades not processing, expiring without notice, etc, but we have invested in new software which should alleviate those headaches and make Team RFC much easier.

When we roll out this new software this week, we're also going to change the Team RFC system for the first time in several years, as we seek to increase our fundraising to help support and offset increasing costs for running the site, combined with declining revenue from advertisements. While we understand these changes may be a little confusing at first, we hope you'll all come to embrace them and enjoy them even more than the previous system. Here are the highlights.

Team RFC Now Has Levels - Copper, Silver, Bronze, and Gold
The introductory level will stay the same price it was ($20 per year) and include the same benefits. If you like Team RFC the way it is - it's staying that way. But we have new options for people who wish to contribute more.

Bye Bye Advertisements
We've heard you loud and clear - you don't like pop ups, advertising links, and flashy annoying banners. Unfortunately, they are necessary for us to operate as a business, but now you have a way to get rid of them for good. All levels Silver and above have all network ads removed, so you will never see another pop up or Keen Boots ad again!*
* Note that all levels will still see our Member Sponsor banners. These sponsors aren't faceless corporations, they're your neighbors and they stay active on the site, and they deserve a little publicity. They also NEVER do pop ups, and all ads are strictly "non-annoying"!

St. Jude's is the Real Winner
This new system also allows us to accurately track all incoming memberships, which means we can more accurately track our donations. 20% of ALL Team RFC funds goes straight to St. Jude's to continue RFC's streak of helping our community and honoring Indy, our founder.

Team RFC Renewals
The one thing that will be increasing is the renewal price, which was previously set to $10. We cannot continue offering that option with this software, but we are setting the copper level to $10 for the first two weeks so members can up for as many months as they'd like before the system adjusts to the $20 level for new members in the future.

Existing Team RFC Members Will be Upgraded to Silver
As a thank you for your early support and dedication, we will be upgrading all existing Team RFC members to Silver so you may enjoy an ad-free RFC.

As this system is new, we do hope you'll take a little bit of time to check it out and we would love to hear your thoughts. While this change is permanent, the software itself is also new so there could be some cool ideas we haven't thought of, and we're willing to adjust levels if members have new ideas for membership benefits.

Thanks for reading and we look forward many more years with you all!
