Almost half way through the month ... where are all the shooters?

I look forward to this one as my setup is over the 10 pound weight limit for many of the matches here on RFC. (By .045 Pounds!)

It would be nice to see this match get rolling as I enjoy the challenge, even though I am still learning the shooting sports.

Good evening Robert

I had at one time a very good friend named Robert Pipes, everybody called him Bob. I thought of him as my second father, even though my pops was still around at the time and my pops was a very good father. Bob passed at the tender age of 89, that was at least 25 years ago.

Anyway some info you did not need to know.

I hope the lack of participation is the ammo shortage. I hope people are not abandoning this shooting style, its about the only one I am still able to shoot. I still am able to shoot pistols off hand (I did sell off the 44 mags late last year, my hands could not take the recoil anymore) and shoot the old black powder cartage guns off of cross sticks.

Still awaiting more post here.

Hey Chuck.

Pipes1 came from my being a pipe smoker and collector. (First pipe when I was 16 and that was a long time ago.... LOL)
This is one of my favorites I had commissioned from a carver in Turkey, about 20 years ago.

I shot two targets with my 452 American today. Both scored 2450. I can’t seem to get past 25 yards.

Unlimited, 25 yards
Appalachian2 (Connel)
452 American, MDT chassis, Athlon Cronus BTR [email protected]
Lapua Center X
2450
Grizzley front/ Protektor rear
76F wind 8-10 MPH from my 7-9 o’clock
I shot this Blue target with the illuminated Red reticle of my scope. It looked pretty cool. I don’t think it helped me any though.

I shot one with my 457 Trainer with a Clearidge 3-9 scope. Afterward I realized this target was one of the first ones I printed and it is scaled smaller. I’ll try a proper sized target soon with the Trainer.

I just got started shooting local ARA Factory matches and having a ball. Next one is Wednesday then will be on the road for a month of wildlife photography. Fortunately, I get back a couple days before the next match but will have spent a month without practice so will see how that goes. (Shooting with camera and lens just doesn't provide the same type of practice .. LOL)

Shooting the RFC matches has really improved my scores.

I went out this morning to practice for Wednesdays 50 yard ARA Factory Class match. I managed to get my first ever 2500 scores and two at 2350 with a 4 card average of 2425.

Now if I can just repeat that in the match .....
