Beautiful rifle!! I am not a huge engraving fan either but the work on this rifle is beyond comparison. What is even better is the story, thank you for sharing it with us. It made my night.

You know Art, I'm not sure I ever did mention the box to him, it's only my guess but it wouldn't be the sort of thing that he would value. But, your question makes me want to tell him just to "fess-up". I actually never told him about this post.

Who would have ever thought that the original boxes for guns would be collectible and be so valuable. I can't remember the number of boxes that got thrown away because it was just a box!

Beautiful rifle, I’m usually not one for gold or engraving but all of that was tastefully done and it’s not overpowering. As much as I like the rifle, that story is the real good. Anyone can buy a nice rifle with enough $$$ but not that story.

Enjoy!

Like others have said, I am not much for gold or engraving on rifles, but that wood makes my heart go pitter patter!

For me -- the story behind it and the rifle -- the whole package, is wonderful. To think about the skill that went into that engraving and the gold inlays is truly impressive. These artistic skills are sadly dying. That rifle is a masterpiece!

Eddies rifle

Just out of this world, it puts that 22,000 dollar one to shame, and you know something else, You deserve what you got, Really! You were the first one to help me out when I started the Kimber journey, I'm sure you've done the same for many of us. What Goes Around, Comes Around, It's, your turn, Thank you Ed for all your help ,Tim

Ed, it was great talking to you about Kimbers and all the custom makers that you have met. This is one of the most tasteful Kimber custom rifles that I have ever seen, what with the dark walnut and mineral streaking and just the right amount of engraving. The next time that I am in your area I will have to stop by and see it in person. Dave.
