I'm curious as to how the door fell off.

Be sure to only buy gun safes from the manufacturers themselves or their authorized dealers!!! About a breakdown, it's hard to say how to fix it. As advised above, you'd better contact the manufacturer if the warranty still applies.
I can also suggest one option that my friend once tried - to call these guys - https://www.thesafekeeper.com/safe-s...e-service.html In some cases they can advise by phone.

This has to be one of the strangest threads I have ever read. I can see a car door falling off, or a refrigerator door, but a SAFE door??? There had to be some advanced notice that this thing was a problem it the works. I have seen safe that are over 100 years old and their doors worked like new. I am stunned....

Plus when I first read the thread starter I thought the safe was physically jacked up!

Some safe doors just slip onto the hinge pins, makes it a lot easier to hump up the stairs. My cheepie Winchester 10 gun does, haven't tried the other two of differing brands. All have manual combo locks, you couldn't give me an electronic lock.
