A friend sent me an e-mail last night asking me what serial # is on my Exemplar (10" barrel) pistol ? He gave me his serial number which endins 30P. I checked mine and it ends one digit away from his. So what are the chances of having a friend with a consequetive serial number gun ? He also said that the barrel on his gun is stamped "Sile NY,NY" on the bottom. I checked and mine is too. So what does the Sile stamping indicate?

1 in a hundred? 1 in a thousand? Though for a limited production gun, the first number might apply.
If fifty came in, 1 in 50. Unless you know how many were brought in, anyone's guess.
Sile was apparently the importer.

I once purchased an Anschutz rifle a year after the first one.The numbers were 2 apart.

The Sile, NY, NY I believe is the importer

Perhaps 2 (up and down a digit) out of the total production run?

+1 Importer marks

I have had the opportunity to purchase consecutive serial number firearms twice. Each time from a different dealer. The first time I thought about it and the second time I didn't even give it a second thought. I purchase to shoot and not to collect.
