What is the length of pull on the backpacker? Are there options to extend it?

I've read that it's about 13.5 inches. It feels shorter than my original stock. The rubber butt pad is replaceable, and one can gain an additional 0.5 inches with this pad ...

Can I ask a Backpacker Stock owner to measure and post what the length of pull is on the stock?

Length of pull is just a hair over thirteen inches on a tac sol x-ring takedown receiver and Ruger BX trigger:

Thank you IRSmurf - went ahead and ordered one last night (tan) along with the recoil pad to add about 1/2 inch.
I'm hoping between that and the flatter comb & risers it will make the TD easier to shoot.

By the way, that looks like a pretty decked out TD you have - anything Ruger left on it?

The trigger (BX), adjustment knob, and the magazine are Ruger. The stock is Magpul. And everything else is Tactical Solutions. This is their retail full build. While shopping, my priorities were light weight, small size, quiet aesthetic, and maintaining a zero while frequently swapping between scope and red dot and taking down the rifle. I'm very pleased with it, so far.

X-22 Backpacker stock for Takedowns

I read a few pages back and didn't see anyone mention this...

Has anyone tried to fit a Volquartsen or similarly-railed barrel into the Backpacker stock? I'm worried about interference from the rail when I'm the stowed position. I DO like Magpul's optics mount, but the rail is too short for a scout scope.

Thanks in advance.

What packs are people using to stow a 10/22 TD with a Backpacker stock and optics? I'd really like to find out what pack this Amazon user "saltysteel" is using in his review of the stock:

That looks like the standard pack that came with my TD Lite. He's got the target model so I assume it comes with that model, too. And probably others as well.

My Stainless, 16", synthetic stock came with the case with the two pockets outside and the red Ruger logo, and the separate pockets for the receiver and barrel inside. I have a UTG Bugbuster on it, as well as the Backpaker stock and it still fits that OEM case - it is snug though. You have to put the barrel in one pocket and receiver in the other.

I didn't realize that some rifles came with this case, and it looks like you're right. Mine is the case with a large sleeve with a velcro-fastened flap in one side, and two smaller sleeves on the other (like jam_ppp described).

I like the pictured setup better. It's way more flexible.

Mine was a Gallery Of Guns rifle so it didn't come with a case. I ended up going with this one from UTG in a 25" flavor...

I have used a soft tennis racket case. First, it fits my TD and my SBR AR9 and second, it is inconspicuous-no one knows what is in there, and it is very inexpensive.

Another good idea....

I do not have the X-22 stock yet, but is probably close in length to the stock TD stock.
Thanks again!
