Was just wondering if there was any 100 yard .22lr match interest here? Was kind of thinking along the lines of Prone and from the Bench.

100 yd.

Well, I scheduled 100 yd. bench rest matches at our range and no one showed up. Seems most still have a hard time buying ammo locally.

My thoughts...
Yes, 100Yd BR, Unlimited, any 22LR, 22Mag, 17HMR, any scope, any rest, any ammo, any target, Match to consist of your Best 5 of 10-5 shot groups as an average of the 5 groups CC.
Pictures of Rifle and target to accompany your entry but not mandatory.

I think this would be a fun exercize and comparison event.

Yes 100 yard would be fun and challenging. I like to shoot the mini-palmas at my local range, which are really fun.

I think we are too scattered out, here in southwest OR, it would be fun though!

Joe, are you asking about on-line matches or in-person?

My local club does a 100yrd 22lr match every month. Attendance is great. 18 shooters just yesterday despite 18mph wind. 25 shooters the month before.

They are great fun and I'd be interested in online matches as well.

How would you do an online shoot and how would you verify scores as legitimate?
It would all have to be on trust, but I'm reminded of the old axiom the first liar hasn't a chance of winning. But surely there are no truth stretchers on this forum are there?

Actually an entire section of RFC is dedicated to on-line matches. There are 10 sub-forums for them. I'm new and haven't participated in any yet, but it sounds like fun. My local club only does a rimfire match once per month. It would be nice to fill in the gaps with RFC matches.

Maybe have a Standard (heavy) gun Division and a Hunter (sporter) Division like the Silhouette game has. Thinking out loud here.

Either way, I am in.

50 yard devil

I totally love the .22 rifle / built numerous 10/22's to the hilt.

But it's still a 50 yard devil .....

I've got to question 100 although.

I've shot a number of good 10 shot groups at 100, but nothing like the 5 shot touching groups that I consistently CAN shoot at 50 yards.

100 is fun to plink a .22 with IMO.

My local club (WBBSC.com) has been holding Smallbore F-Class matches at 100 yards throughout this year.

Please see thread on the "Local Matches / Ranges / Clubs / Gun Shows" column here and look for: Smallbore metric prone F class matches

Out last match of the year is coming up on Sunday October 25th.
Will be an 80 round match...
We are STILL waiting on the NRA to see if they will make this an NRA "Approved" match.

We WILL be following their rules, regulations, and shooting at their A-33 target.

Question about your 100 yard groups. What is an average of your groups ? From a factory and full blown match rifle? I was shooting at 100 yards last week with a Kimber HS w/Wolf match ammo and was around 1.75 + inches for 10 shot groups. This was off a bipod and rear bag. Not even sure how that would compare.
Thanks again

Dear "rmist"

I am shooting a rebuilt Anschutz 1607 MPR built by Mark Chesebro.
Others are shooting Anschutz 54 & 64, Suhl, Ruger, Hall, Martini and others.
So we run the complete gambit.
As noted previously, please check out our website to see more information.
All of our scores are listed for this year's "fun" matches.

I blew it for the last match.
As I miscounted what I shot on the first target of the second relay.
I was having a "senior moment" with a loading issue with a single round that just would not go in the action for me, after three attempts. Blew my concentration!
And a possible scoring 50-10x.

I will NEVER, EVER make that mistake again!

I will post some pictures of my rig and our group, plus a few of my "better" shot targets.

Why groups, why not individual targets like an ARA or IR 50/50 styled target, They prove substantially more challenging as you have to move from target to target. Anyone can strap a gun down and shoot groups ,few can carry across 25 individual bulls and be competitive ,but that's just my personal opinion that I'm quite sure I'll get flack about, but we are talking shooter and rifle accuracy here ,groups do little to prove what the shooter is capable of unless from 3P in my opinion.

I too think 25 Bulls, Shot Signally would be challenging @ 100 yards.
altho scoring by different individuals......that could be a problem.
I'm afraid you could take 3 targets, have them scored by 3 different individuals and come up with 2-3 different scores for each target scored .

again- a 25 bull Target shot @ 100 yards, off of a bench- front Bag, Bi-pod or Rest, with a rear bag.

I think getting down Prone and shooting is going to be a problem for some shooters.
