Apex Tactical Trigger Kit question

Ok guy's

I just purchased a Ruger 22/45 Tactical Mark IV. I have a primary arms red dot on it and looking to do a few more things to it.

I have a Mark IV Hunter and a Mark III Competition that have all Volquartsen innards. So I know what the Volquartsen stuff does for the trigger. Love Volquartsen.

But thinking about doing something or I should say trying something different on the Mark IV 22/45 Tactical. I am thinking about the Apex trigger kit. It has a flat trigger but does not have over travel or take up setting on it. It does come with a hammer and magazine disconnect removal spacer. Say's it will drop trigger to 4.5 pounds. How good is this trigger kit and how does it compare to the Volquartsen trigger after installation.

Does the flat trigger make it feel better because you can get a lower purchase on that trigger ? Is it short and crisp on the take up and break. what do you guy's think of the Apex trigger kit ?

Volquartsen kit brings trigger pull to the 2# area. Tandemkross and Majestic triggers have flat face and over travel and take up. Majestic trigger also has a length of pull adjustment.

27 Beck,
Thanks for the info. I have looked at both of those but do not care for the skeletonized trigger. Really to bad the Apex does not have the adjustments.

They claim 50% reduction in over travel compared to a factory trigger. That comes from the nub on the front above the trigger pin hole. It'd be pretty easy to add a similar nub to the front below the trigger pin hole to adjust out the pre travel.

The nub to add can be a small set screw to make it easily adjustable. I pinned the pre travel out of my MKII trigger using a small finish nail. It is not easily adjustable, but is inexpensive and easy to install. Once adjusted with some hand fitting, there's no further need to have it be adjustable and it works every bit as well as a set screw or molded nub.

I also think it looks better than the exposed screws in either the VQ or TK triggers. Pics below.
