Whose trigger set-up to use?

I bought a Mark 4 Competition used, that already has a Majestic Arms trigger kit, and a few other attachments installed. The trigger is much too light for my clumsy fingers.
I'd like a trigger pull of about 3.5-4.0 lbs. Right now I'm at 2.25, which is way too light for me.
Would I be better off switching over to either a VQ or TK kit?

Neither if that is too light for you. Find a stock setup and put back in it. My Volquartsen kit on a MKIV breaks under 1.5lbs. Go back to a stock sear. TK doesn't have anything but the trigger anyway, so thats kind of a moot point.

The Apex kit should put you back to the range your liking for while still being a “cleaner” trigger than the factory set up.

Getting an Apex kit won't help because it has nothing to restore the factory sear setup.

I'd start by asking Ruger if they could send you a new factory sear spring. It should be compatible with the Majestic sear, and is "overkill beefy". It should add back a lot of weight without adding the gritty pull the Ruger sear often produces.

I was not thinking about the factory sear being missing.

You could also reach out to Volquartsen or Wirthwein’s to see if they have a factory sear laying around that you could acquire from them.
