Firefly Generations?

I'm getting bored at home, so I was going through the 10/22 parts bin looking to see what I had in the way of bolts for my next round of builds, so I had both of my Volquartsen Firefly "clearance" bolts out, and I noticed this difference in their construction

I don't know which is the newer one (they had two rounds of clearance sales on these and I bought one each round) but I would have to guess it's the one with the silver piece that's just staked in

anybody know for sure just how many variations of Firefly there are?
which version do you have? or do you have a different one altogether?

very interesting crackedcornish, I did not know this. I've had two different bolts within the last year and a half and they both had the stacked silver hammer plate. Neat! I love my Firefly bolt for its intended use, glad I was able to get one.

did you get a Firefly during one of the rounds of clearance sales?

how did yours come packaged?...both of mine just came in a plastic zip lock bag with the recoil rod, spring, and urethane buffer, not the normal Volquartsen packaging that I'm used to seeing

I picked up a bolt during the clearance sale which k came packed in Volquartsen packaging. As long as we are on this subject I would like to hear more about the guys that are shooting the firefly or have built specifically for shooting quiets.

I picked one up about a year ago. It is the 'staked' style.

Is anyone using one of these in a takedown?

I use the takedown, with the integrally suppressed barrel. Firefly bolt, Kidd trigger, Pulsar thermal scope, for Quiets only. Works well for my purposes. The Firefly bolt seems a little "sticky"; likes to run wet.

Right now am using mine in a charger td . Had Randy at CPC shorten and rethread the barrel at 7 inches. Remington CBee's shoot the best, suppressor or not. One day i need to buy another firefly bolt for a rifle. Really love.

purchased one last year and one this year - both came in printed VQ store packaging and both have the allen screw/plate on the bottom

i use the firefly in one of my Charger TDs w/two modified BXs to shoot .22 Shorts and w/a 'normal' BX to shoot CCI Quiet .22LR

very nice bolt and accessory - quite happy knowing that if one goes tango uniform i have a spare in the wings

nope, there was a fellow selling modified BX mags on the bay of evil; if i had a drill press i'd set up a jig and make my own with roll pins:

looks like he's still selling them:
