Just one do it all 22lr cartridge?

For hunting/plinking/200 yard target work?

Nope, not gonna go there.

This is America. Where on line ammo retailers deliver to my front door.

I can get any flavor of rimfire that interests me.

Not going to be limited to just one. Ever.

I have never cared for hypothetical situations either.

oh guys, I should have phrased the question different.
I don't have very much 22LR ammo, what would you suggest?

There can't be only one! Says Connor McCloud of the clan McCloud.

My semi-auto pistols like mv's rated in the 1200 fps range to cycle properly.
My long range 22lr rifle does better with subsonic match/competition quality ammo.
My single six revolver has no preference.
My antique Marlin 60 is happy with Fed 36 grain cphp for picking off tree rats.

I use a little of everything to fit my needs.

None of my toys will put up with Winchester 22lr cartridge problems.
Winchester 22lr....blech....phooie!

Since Calamity and I only bench shoot at 50 and 75 yards, this is fairly simple. Price definitely comes into play. I bought a few cases of CCI sv's when the delivered price was under $16. I also bought quite a few of the Xmas sv's between $25 and $30 a brick delivered. Calamity likes her CCI Tacts. We bought quite a few cases from Reeds when they had the BOGO and Vista had their rebate. So that's Calamity's favorite, although she knows it doesn't shoot as well as the sv's. If I had to choose regardless of price, it would come down to the three that I shoot every single shooting: CCI sv, Norma Tac, SK Std +.

I'll play.
My Marlin is set up with a Hawke scope that has a 22 lr hv reticle with holdovers out to 200 yds.
Depending on availability
First is CCI minimag 36gn hollow points.
Second is Federal 36gn hollow point bulk
Third is Remington 36gn golden bullet hollow points.
All of these work well in my rifle.

Eley sshp for me for hunting. Paper is for bench plinking with whatever ammo I feel like with whatever rifle I choose and whatever frame of mind I'm in.

Probably SK Standard Plus - It doesn't do a bad job of for target shooting, it's standard velocity so I can use it in all my pistols, I'm sure it would work for hunting and if needed I could make my own HP & improve the hunting loads.
