20 or 30 MOA scope base for Thompson Benchmark 22

I have a TC r55 benchmark rifle that i would love to shoot in local NRL 22 matches. The problem I have is some of the stages run out to 300 yds.My scope is only able to dial out to a bit over 200.What options do I have for this rifle. Before anyone suggests the Burris signature rings, they only work with picatinny rails.Right now I have a 2 piece factory weaver scope base. This is my first post on this forum btw, thank you for your advice. Dave

Welcome to Rimfire Central. I'm not familiar with that TC but check and see EGW might have 20 moa mount for it.

Not sure what Signature rings you are looking at but I have a bunch of them setting on Weaver bases.

1) Not sure where that came from. As said by Bill no problem with Weaver bases that I'm aware of.

2) Also, there is a Leupold turn-in mount for your rifle. Burris makes Signature turn-in (standard) rings that will work.

3) Before Signature rings, there was the shim method which I still use on rifles for which I don't want Signature rings. However if you need 20 or 30 MOA I wouldn't shim..Tom

Where did that come from?

Brownells has it written in the product description. Even if the burris rings worked on weaver bases, they require 2 slots in the base, my weaver base only has one slot per mount.

Not referring to $150 "Tactical Ring Configuration" XTR rings, whatever that is.

Burris Signature Rings, Bullet #5 below: Signature Zee version works with Weaver Style bases...Tom

This does not solve the elevation problem.I am not looking for regular rings.I am looking for a 20 or 30 moa rail, since the burris sleeved rings wont work with my setup.

Dave, they will work given what you've provided. Not only that, they are very common and one of but two choices you have.

You have Weaver bases. (See bullet 5 above)

Burris Signature Zee rings fit Weaver bases and use the inserts. (See bullet 3 above)

Signature rings are not regular rings. The use the Pos-Align MOA inserts which provide up to 40 MOA with 1" rings. 30mm Signature Zee rings I believe offer half that.

There is no ready made rail with built in MOA for your rifle.

Your other choice is the Leopold mount I pictured below with Signature turn-in (standard) rings. Ignore the rings pictured with the mount; they are not Signature rings.

What am I missing?...Tom

These rings will do exactly what you are needing to do, that's what they were developed for. This link explains it pretty well. http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/...ation-changes/
Along with the Signature Zee rings you will need to order the offset insert kit, Burris 626019 that includes .005, .010 and .020 offsets.

Copy that.I understand now. After all of the group shooting, ring/base hunting, scope testing, the Old TC may be done as a nrl candidate.I have put a ton of time, and money making this tc project work, only to find the stock has a crack in it.The crack runs right through the pistol grip and surely will get worse with more use.I am thinking I will just cut my losses and build the 10/22 up for matches.
I knew i shouldn't have spent $200 on the magazines for this thing.Oh well, thank you guys for your help, and patience with me.

Don't give up on it just yet. Ill tell you a way to repair the crack if you can get a hypodermic syringe with a long skinny needle. Smooth the point off so its rounded then see if you can slip it in the crack, spinning the syringe sometimes helps. The needle should follow the crack. If it goes in take some wood glue and put in the syringe, you can thin it a little with water if need be. Insert the needle and start injecting the glue as you slowly remove it. Then wrap the cracked area several times with rubber tubing. Ive fixed a couple cracks like that and if the wood fits correctly you cant see it after your finished and is as strong as the wood itself.
