She balances well, good enough that I'm seriously thinking about offhand matches. It's still new to me, I have to get used to it first .

This rifle continues to "grow on me". I should have bought one 30 years ago. I can't bring myself to scope it, I get that Jed Clampett hillbilly grin every time I hit something with iron sights. It's just plain fun to shoot.

Thanks Řystein, I may get out again and see if I can improve on the scoped targets.
I'm still sorting out what the Tikka likes best.
After the last session, I moved the scope back as far as it will go without using off-set rings. The rifle has a very short action to mount the rings on, which makes scope positioning difficult.
I found I was stretching ahead to get a good scope picture, my Leupold is not very generous for proper eye position.
I have a 50m prone match coming up next weekend, that will be a good test for both the scope position and the rifle in general.

Nice shooting on all the targets Sean. Glad you could join in this month. It looks like you cheated yourself on the Class II scoped though. I thought the top right bottle looked like a 10 but you have it a 5. You would know best though.

Thanks Jack, I was wishful of a 10 too, but it plugged as a 5. I'm my own worst enemy when it comes to scoring targets.

From Shorty talking about Sean's bottle target post #63.

"I thought the top right bottle looked like a 10 but you have it a 5. You would know best though."

I think you'r looking at the right/left lines, and I would agree.

Except it's touching the upper bottle cap line.

Smooth

I think that particular bottle had some ill will for me, Smooth.. I missed it on both the C2 that Shorty was talking about, AND the C3 you looked at

It's a real challenge stuffing that bullet in between the 4 boundary lines on the C3 target.

I'm going to try it again, I should be able to improve on the 70 providing I don't miss a bottle altogether. I might try zeroing 1/4" high and aim at the bottom line to keep me from wandering. Great fun.. lol.

It's been too windy to shoot the 100 the last several times I've been at the range, plus I haven't tried the rifle past 50 yds yet.. The fun shoot is exactly that, unless it's really blowing a gale I can shoot it.
I've been shooting the Tikka almost entirely prone, I want to work on my F-class form. I don't shoot any bench rest classes at all, but shoot both rimfire and centre fire F-class competitions.

Good shooting, Sean...

I hope to get to the range tomorrow to test some ammo, and shoot a target.
The range is closed on Mon. & Tues, and I don't do weekends.

Finally, a decent day.

Shorty, I thought I'd never get a decent day here but today turned out great except my score.
