Anyone here ever make their own speed loaders for tube magazine rifles. I have a Western Field that has a tube magazine and I was thinking of making some speed loaders for it but thought maybe some one here has done this. Like where can I get cheap tubing. What diameter tubing.

Seems like finding durable tubing in the right diameter is the problem. Some have used aluminum arrow shafts successfully. When you can buy a Spee-D-Loader for around $20, I kinda have to ask why.

.

I make my .22 speedloaders in a few E-Z-Peazy steps.

1) Go to the fast food restaurant/coffee shop of your choice and obtain several of their (free) largest plastic straws.

2) Go to WallyWorld or gun shop and buy a package of disposable foam earplugs. ($2)

3) Roll one earplug between fingers to a small diameter and insert it into one end of a straw, flush with the end.

4) Fill the straw's open end with cartridges, orienting them (nose first or last) according to how you want them in the tube mag - leaving at least a half a cartridge length space at the open end for a plug. (different orientation for butt-feed & under-barrel feed magazines)

5) Roll a 2nd foam earplug as above and insert only halfway deep, to allow for grasping/removal.

Fill as many straws as you need for an outing and make smoke.

Unless you just want to make them yourself, birddog has about the best thing going from my viewpoint. I got 10 of these from him a few months back and couldn't be happier. I think they came in in about 3 days. Plus, he is a forum member. Support your local suppliers.
